Check before installing
- Still a young project and versions change often. Live with it for a few days before making it your main browser.
What it is
An open-source browser built on Firefox. Its design removes the address bar and tab strip from view and leaves the page itself, with tabs stacked vertically on the left and collapsed when unused.
When to pick this
If a cleared window and vertical tabs suit how you work. For the same layout with a longer track record, Vivaldi is the steadier option.
Details
Cleared interface
With no top bar, more of the screen goes to the page. The difference shows most on short laptop screens.
Vertical tabs and workspaces
Tabs sit vertically on the left, and separate workspaces keep work and personal tabs apart.
Still young
Being Firefox-based, most extensions work, but versions change often. Try it for a few days before making it your main browser.
After a reformat
A Firefox account brings it back
Zen is built on Firefox and uses the same Sync. Bookmarks, passwords and extensions return.
Workspaces and modes
Workspace layout, sidebar arrangement and Zen mode settings exist only in the profile folder. Copy %APPDATA%\zen before formatting to restore them.
