What it is
A Chromium-based browser from Naver, Korea’s largest web portal. Its distinguishing features are a dual tab that splits one tab into two side-by-side pages, and a sidebar that handles search, translation and quick calculations without opening a window. Naver sign-in persists and Papago translation is built in.
When to pick this
If you use Naver services often or frequently need two pages side by side. It is not in winget, so it cannot be installed automatically — you download it from the official site.
Details
Dual tab
Split a single tab left and right to read two sites at once — useful for writing while referring to a source, or comparing prices.
Sidebar
A panel beside the page for search, translation, notes and a calculator, so you never leave the page you are on.
Chrome extensions
Being Chromium-based, it installs extensions from the Chrome Web Store directly.
After a reformat
Naver sign-in brings it back
Bookmarks, saved passwords and the sidebar layout sync. Whale Settings → Sync lets you pick what to include.
Extensions are reinstalled
Chrome Web Store extensions work as-is, but the list of installed extensions may not sync — noting the names of the ones you use saves time.
No automatic install
Whale is not on winget, so it has to be downloaded from the official site. In this site’s installer file it appears under the "manual install" list.
