What it is
A terminal program for connecting to servers. It supports SSH and serial connections, and it became the de facto standard in Japanese server operations — enough that manuals and internal documentation are often written assuming it. BSD-licensed open source.
When to pick this
If you work with Japanese servers or equipment, or need serial connections. For ordinary SSH work, Windows Terminal will do.

Remote server access over SSH, plus serial port connections — necessary when working with network appliances or embedded devices.
Macros
Connection and login sequences can be scripted, cutting out the repetition of logging into the same server daily.
Japanese text
It handles Japanese character encodings well, so text garbling is rarer in Japanese-built server environments.
