Check before installing
- On first launch you can import your VS Code extensions, theme and keybindings. If you used VS Code before the reformat, do it at that step.
- The free tier limits AI requests. It is not enough for all-day use.
What it is
A code editor from Anysphere. It is built on VS Code, so the layout, keybindings and extensions are nearly identical, with AI added that reads the whole project and edits several files at once. Tell it in chat to "rename this function and update every caller" and the editor changes the files directly; you review the diff and accept or revert.
When to pick this
If you already use VS Code and want an editor where AI edits the code directly. If you do not need AI, VS Code is enough; if you prefer working in a terminal, look at Claude Code or Codex.
Details
Import your VS Code setup
On first launch it brings over your extensions, theme, keybindings and settings in one step. If you used VS Code before the reformat there is almost nothing to adjust.
Whole-project awareness
It indexes the folder up front, so you can ask "where is the payment handling" without opening and pasting files yourself.
Pricing
The free Hobby plan limits AI requests. All-day use needs Pro at $20/month; team plans are $40 per user per month.
