What it is
The desktop app for Anthropic’s AI assistant Claude, so you do not need a browser. A keyboard shortcut brings up the window from anywhere and you can drop a file onto it, and Claude Code — which reads and edits code directly — runs inside the same app. Using Claude Code used to mean typing commands in a terminal; now it happens in a window.

Details
Claude Code built in
Point it at a project folder and it reads the code, edits files, runs tests and creates commits. It shows what it intends to do and waits for approval, so irreversible actions do not happen quietly. There is no separate terminal tool to install.
Keyboard shortcut
Bring up the window from inside any other program. Drop PDFs, images and documents onto it and it reads them.
