What it is
A system information tool from CPUID. It reports the CPU model and the clock speed it is actually running at, the motherboard chipset, memory specification and timings, and graphics card details on one screen. It is also widely used to check that a second-hand PC matches its advertised specification.
When to pick this
To confirm a PC’s specification or check compatibility before adding RAM. For storage lifespan, use CrystalDiskInfo.
Details
Memory specification
The SPD tab shows manufacturer, capacity and speed per RAM slot — the basis for choosing a matching module when adding memory.
Real clock speed
It shows the clock the chip is running at right now, not the number on the box, which tells you whether heat is throttling performance.
Benchmark
Produces a simple CPU score you can compare against other processors.
