Check before installing
- The default installer on the official site has bundled additional software in the past. Read each setup screen.
What it is
FileZilla uploads and downloads files to and from a server over FTP. Your PC sits on the left and the server on the right, and you drag files between them, so no commands are needed. It is used for publishing website files and managing web hosting.
When to pick this
For uploading to web hosting or exchanging files with a server. To keep files in the cloud instead, use Google Drive or Dropbox.
Details
Two-pane layout
Your PC and the server side by side, dragging files across while comparing folder structures visually.
Secure connections
Supports encrypted SFTP and FTPS as well as plain FTP. Most servers now use SFTP, so check which one yours expects.
Installer checkboxes
